...what is Hey Lauren Raquel?
Honestly, Hey Lauren Raquel is an experiment. In the past I have used good old fashioned face-to-face networking to discover new projects and collaborations. I've created this space as an alternative calling card - a way to broaden that network.

Why should you collaborate with me?
  • I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography & Design from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, & a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University
  • I am interested in oh-so-many things. At the heart of every task or project I tackle is my abiding interest in people. That makes me interested in you
  • I am at my best when bringing the best out of people & initiatives - pulling the fullest potential out of ideas & projects. In past projects this has looked like:
    • conducting research on target markets & fleshing out initial projections for startups
    • managing logistics, both the leading-up-to & day-of types, for large scale pop-ups & events, including people management, budgeting, inventory management, compliance, & marketing
    • developing operations systems and standard operating procedures for individual projects & full organizations
    • documenting projects - collecting & curating both creative assets (photos, prints, video, etc) & quantitative data (stats, feedback, the devil-in-the-detail notes, etc), for clients
    • consulting on concept development for new projects
    • developing & facilitating groups & workshops centered on creativity, self-care, grief, & story sharing
    • head over here to check out some specific projects & collaborations
  • I thrive in high-volume, high-stakes, fast-paced environments. I also love deep thinking work, & even tackling the hum drum administrative tasks. I assume a deep sense of ownership of any project I take on
  • I'm fun to be around (references available upon request)

What does collaboration with me look like?
  • I am currently looking for opportunities to collaborate around community building, art, food & bev, travel, education, social enterprise, publishing, & mental health. Have an idea that you don't think falls into one of those categories? I'd love to hear from you, too
  • I am open to large & small roles in projects
  • All collaborations start with a conversation. I want to know who you are & what you are working on. I need to know where you're seeking partnership & support, & what you want that to look like
  • My fees can be project-based, hourly, profit-share, or equity-based, depending on the project
  • I don't charge fees for all collaborations. Tell me you want to go dancing, tell me you want to go to Japan, or tell me you want to create public art to benefit a particular cause. I'm probably interested
Let's connect!
... who is Lauren Raquel?
I'm the one on the right.

If you read about me on the home page, this will sound incredibly familiar. With that said...

I am a collaborator, a facilitator, & a creative.

I currently live in Austin, TX, traveling back to NYC monthly.

I recently traveled to India as a consultant to a coffee company on a mission to source damn good South Indian coffee & less recently to Bhutan, solo, as a counseling graduate student seeking to deepen my multicultural competence.

I worked for an independent publishing company as a project manager, juggling 90 concurrent author projects with unique & specific creative needs, & also as a project and logistics manager for a B Corp delivering over 10,000 meals a week to at-risk students in the greater NYC area during the pandemic.

I taught art & provided pro bono counseling services to pediatric oncology patients & co-curated & organized an annual exhibit of patient artwork at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art.

I owned & operated Burger Supreme, a viral mid-atlantic burger concept hosted at Smorgasburg, slinging burgers in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, & Japan. I have overseen logistics for additional food & beverage concepts at wine & food festivals, international boat shows, rockaway beach concessions, & music festivals.

A lifetime ago I spent months documenting an eccentric bookshop owner, turning the photos & prints from our time together into a hand bound book & gallery display.

I am, admittedly, a generalist - a Jill of all trades, so to speak. I have realized I wouldn't want to be anything else.
